Watch this informative video for immediate steps to take if you suspect you've been scammed.

🚨1) Do these right now

  • Contact your bank/card/crypto exchange/payment app and dispute or freeze the transaction.
  • Change passwords on email and financial accounts; enable 2FA (2 factor authentication).
  • Remove any unknown remote-access apps; run a reputable malware scan.
  • Collect evidence: screenshots, emails, transaction IDs, wallet addresses, chat logs.
  • If gift cards/crypto/wire were sent, gather codes and transaction hashes for your reports.

📋2) Report it (official channels)

💡 Tip: File with both the FTC and IC3 for broader coverage. Save your confirmation numbers.

🌐3) Also report it where it happened

🛡️4) Aftercare

  • Place a fraud alert or credit freeze (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion).
  • Monitor bank/credit statements for the next 90 days.
  • For crypto, also notify your exchange with the scammers' wallet address and tx hash(es).
